Next generation working in the Public Sector

LGSS provide services to Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire County Councils as well as several smaller clients. Wisework won the competitive bid to provide comprehensive support to the two County Councils in a transition to “ Next Generation Working”. This involved a range of approaches including the introduction of an innovative Ambassador programme designed to provide quality, motivated support from staff volunteers. READ MORE

Moving and changing

A consultancy project to support the introduction of the new, much more flexible ways of working required by a business relocation. There were demanding business drivers to improve recruitment and retention of staff as part of a strategy to enhance customer service and business productivity. It involved developing the project goals, producing a road map, benchmarking, advice on collaborative workspaces, senior management workshops and support for a team charged with developing and initiating a culture change. Kickstarting a project with the top team

We helped the Senior Management Team at London Borough of Sutton to initiate plans to move to new, more flexible ways of working. A short, concentrated workshop led to plans to change culture, the identification of the best places to start and tangible benefits that could be achieved. READ MORE

Audit of practice for an auditor

The National Audit Office recruits staff in competition with the major accountancy firms and needs to provide conditions of employment that allow it to attract and retain qualified staff. The NAO recognised that their approach to flexible working was not keeping up with changes in the market and invited Wisework to investigate and make recommendations. READ MORE

Training in support of move to flexible eco-building

Sandwell MBC wanted to rationalise and modernise the existing office accommodation and a new building, Jack Judge House, designed to accommodate approximately 300 employees working flexibly was close to completion.  We were asked to support the move to Jack Judge House by helping to create a culture to enable new ways of working, ensuring the best impact for employees and customers. Supporting TW3 – The Way We Work

At Hertfordshire County Council, we ran a series of training workshops for managers who would be moving to new campus offices.  These focused on the key skills required by managers to manage teams working at different times and in a variety of locations. Later, team workshops enabled staff to work together to identify problems, derive solutions and establish new working patterns and styles best suited to helping them achieve their operational, customer-focused and personal targets. Supporting a transformation programme

Bath and North East Somerset Council needed an experienced consultancy to design and deliver pilot training programmes for managers and HR staff to support their move to flexible working. We developed detailed workshop designs, supported by trainer notes to enable internal staff to take on the programme delivery.  The workshops were piloted in Children’s Services and developed plans to use flexible working to deliver substantial improvements in recruitment, client contact time, staff morale and use of technologies.
